“OKO” School Centre – a well-known participant at 12 Folk Inspirations

Every year, apart from choreography, vocal or music groups- journalistic and media groups take part in Folk Inspirations. A well-known and very helpful guest of Folk Inspirations is the “OKO” Media Centre from Ukraine.

The school media centre “OKO” has been operating at the Kirovograd Gymnasium of New Learning Technologies of the Kirovograd City Council of the Kirovograd region for 25 years. Students aged 12-17 are the participants of the Centre. Oleh Lifer is the organizer and head of the Centre.

During the classes, young people learn about the history and development of photographic technologies, take photos, keep a chronicle of the school, create films and photos documenting interesting phenomena and important events. Participants present their artistic talents during individual exhibitions both at school and online.

Successfully implemented international cooperation with Poland, the Czech Republic and Georgia plays an important role in the development of the Centre. “OKO” has more than once participated in many international projects, including the Folk Inspirations festival, which gave participants the opportunity to enrich their knowledge of other countries, make new contacts and, above all, test their skills in action and broaden their experience through the exchange of good practices.
